English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, other languages with simultaneous translation on request

You will learn the whole process, from grain to bread.  Learn how to make a mill efficient - about advanced milling processes, machine design and plant operation. Learn about lab analysis and cereal science – the science behind different grains, particularly wheat. But this isn’t just theoretical training. Spend a day at our fully operational school mill to learn cleaning, conditioning and milling techniques. Then experience the art of breadmaking, spending one and a half days at our Bakery Innovation Center. You will also get to know some of our latest milling machines, with close-up access to see how they work.

Good working experience of grain milling and solid theoretical background. This course is well-suited for shift millers, head millers and production managers with several years of experience.

Carl Hahn

Milling Solutions Training Center

Carl’s primary area of expertise is flour milling. He trains all levels of milling, including onsite courses. He also conducts mill assessments. Carl completed his milling apprenticeship in 2001. He then spent eight years working in his family flour milling business before completing the Swiss School of Milling in 2009. He joined Bühler in 2011.

Michael Albers

Milling Solutions Training Center

Michael’s primary areas of expertise are common cereals and milling solutions. He teaches our milling courses, including onsite courses. He also conducts mill assessments. Michael completed his apprenticeship in 2007 and graduated from the German Milling School in Braunschweig in 2010. He worked in the milling industry for seven years until he joined our Training Center team in 2017.

Milling Solutions Training Center hall

You will be based at our training center hall. Here you will have classroom training next to our milling floor, where you can explore many of our latest milling machines.

School mill

Spend time at our fully operational and fully equipped school mill for practical experience. Use many of the latest milling machines and come to understand how they work in a normal industrial environment.

Lounge

Spacious and comfortable lounge for breaks, including complimentary tea and coffee.

The course touches upon the whole milling process – from laboratory analysis to the finished product and new market trends.
